Thunderhead

Running down a flat highway
Burning
Like a bullet
through the sun
Comes shining in my eyes so, makes me blind.
As I try to read the signs
That hurry home

Have I been gone too long, have I been gone; too long
Have I been gone
too long

Out into the open
endless sky
Across the fields, sweeping with the wind
Just beyond the silo up ahead
there moves into the sky
A thunderhead

Have I been gone too long, have I been gone; too long
Have I been gone
too long

I dare not speak the secrets of my life
So in my dreams
they will come at me with knives
I mask myself and hide my life with lies
But time has worn and shattered this disguise
Something so deep has stirred my mystic sea
And now it has become a flame in me
The spinning smoke will leave it's twisted thread
And loom into my mood
A thunderhead

Have I been gone too long, have I been gone; too long
Have I been gone
too long

Have I been?
The voice within me said; "You are welcome home."
