Colors

He closed his eyes
to look at the skies
from a better day
blues and grays.
He could see the leaves
trembling in the breeze
tumbling to the ground
gold and brown.
The wind stood still
the clouds rolled in
when the smoke had cleared.
The ground was changing
colors.
In the haze he saw
how the pieces fall
through uneasy dreams
blacks and burgundies.
A voice far from home
says his soul can grow
from this violent hue
to where silence blooms.
The wind stood still
the clouds rolled in
when the smoke had cleared.
The ground was changing
colors.
Shivers leave his bones
he walks his body home
a place to rest his head
cover him in red.
This too will pass
the past and future flash
no more questions asked
there's no more questions asked.

Fade to black.
